Industry

Persolit carries out technical insulation in industrial and process plants in order to – for example – reduce energy loss and avoid danger to persons at high temperatures. We typically use mineral wool, ceramic insulation, cellular rubber, polyurethane foam (PUR) or Aerogel for technical insulation, which we can line with sheet metal from our own workshop. We have many years of experience and extensive know-how in the technical insulation of all types of industrial systems.

Materials for technical insulation

Mineral wool is the most common insulation material for insulation against heat and cold, and we use products from Rockwool, Isover, Paroc and Knauff. Mineral wool is a common term for rock wool, Ultimate and glass wool, and it can be used for most common insulation tasks. We also use ceramic insulation (e.g. Superwool and Microtherm), cellular rubber (Armaflex and Kaiflex), Aerogel, polyurethane and Foamglass.

These materials are suitable for different purposes, temperatures and items. Therefore, choosing the right insulation material is crucial. Here, our experience and know-how enable us to think outside the box to find the best solution.

Insulation and maintenance of tanks, boilers and chimneys

We insulate items such as tanks, boilers and chimneys to reduce surface temperatures, reduce heat loss and ensure energy efficiency. Good insulation of process plants is essential to keep operating costs down, and tanks, boilers and chimneys often account for a large part of energy consumption.

For audits, we also carry out internal boiler cleaning using sandblasting to remove slag from the boiler’s surfaces. We have our own scaffolding for boiler cleaning, so we can handle cleaning from start to finish. We can also conduct drone inspections to identify needs for overhaul and maintenance.

Pipes and piping systems

One of our core areas is the insulation of pipes and piping systems such as steam pipes, cooling pipes, heating pipes, process pipes and exhaust pipes throughout the industrial sector. Insulation of pipes can be done for many purposes, and we customise the insulation material, thickness and sheet metal finish to the individual project.

At process plants in, among others, the food, dairy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, we typically insulate piping systems to ensure a stable temperature in the pipes so that the end product meets all applicable quality requirements. At power plants and heating plants, we insulate to lower the surface temperature and ensure low energy consumption, so that plants do not burden the climate unnecessarily.

Soundproofing

We soundproof both against noise and to ensure good acoustics.

Noise insulation ensures that sound is limited and does not disturb the surroundings. This could be, for example, casing using housing around a machine or insulation of pipes where the contents create noise around the pipe.

We typically soundproof buildings and larger areas with mineral wool and foam products with different coatings and densities to protect against high and low frequency noise as needed.

To create good acoustics, we use sound absorbers such as acoustic panels, acoustic ceilings, notice boards and partition walls. Sound absorbers break the sound waves and reduce the reverberation time in places with a lot of noise from, for example, people and machines. According to the consultant’s instructions, we carry out acoustic adjustment in, for example, production halls, schools and day care centres.

Filters, cyclones and turbines

Insulation of filters and cyclones helps to maintain a stable temperature throughout the process and reduces heat loss in the system. The type of insulation is determined on the basis of the temperatures of the specific system, and when the insulation is installed, we line it with sheet metal according to customers’ wishes.

For turbine insulation, we offer repairs of previous solutions, as well as new insulation.

Solutions change over time, and at Persolit we are always completely up-to-date on new products and execution methods. Typical application methods today are e.g. spray insulation, mineral wool, insulation pads, cassettes etc.

In several places in the country, Persolit has its own tailor workshops for the manufacturing of insulation pillows.

The right solution for your needs

Regardless of the type of insulation, we can offer to clad the insulation with sheet metal made of aluminium, galvanised, aluzinc and stainless steel, as well as a wide range of other metals, claddings and colours. We process the sheets in our own workshop and can therefore carry out special tasks as needed.

Our project engineers and project managers all have high levels of both practical and theoretical experience. That is why we always have our finger on the pulse in terms of new and old standards and working methods.

We are accustomed to DS452 and also have a broad knowledge of other global standards in the field. We have experience with most challenges and have sufficient know-how to carry out technical insulation on all types of industrial and process plants.
